This Privacy Policy explains how CampRoute ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with your use of our mobile application and related services (the "Service").
We keep data collection to a minimum. You do not need to create an account, and we do not require your name, email, or password to use the Service.
By installing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of the Service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with the updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1. Trip and Preference Data
- Your travel setup (vehicle type), travel companions, and trip preferences from onboarding;
- Start and destination points, planned routes, and waypoints you enter;
- Campgrounds, RV parks, and points of interest you save or plan;
- AI-generated trip itineraries and suggestions.
Route and preference data is sent to Google (Places and Gemini API) to generate trip plans and display nearby places.
2.2. Location Data
With your permission, we access your device location to show nearby campgrounds and points of interest and to center the map. You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings.
2.3. Usage and Device Data
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language settings;
- Anonymous identifiers used for analytics;
- Session duration, screens visited, and interaction data;
- Crash logs and performance data.
2.4. Subscription Data
If you purchase a Premium subscription, transaction data (subscription type, renewal date, payment status) is managed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. CampRoute does not store payment card details.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
3.1. To Provide the Service
- Generate and display personalized trip plans and routes;
- Show maps and nearby campgrounds and points of interest;
- Store your saved places and trips;
- Process Premium subscriptions;
- Provide customer support.
3.2. To Communicate with You
- Respond to support inquiries;
- Send optional reminder notifications (with your consent).
3.3. To Improve the Service
- Analyze usage patterns and enhance functionality;
- Improve trip suggestions and recommendations;
- Fix bugs and improve stability;
- Develop new features.
3.4. Legal Compliance
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
- Enforce our agreements and protect rights;
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with:
4.1. Service Providers
- Google (Maps, Places, Gemini API): Map display, nearby place search, and AI trip plan generation;
- Firebase: Anonymous authentication, hosting, database, remote configuration, analytics, and crash reporting;
- RevenueCat: Subscription management and purchase verification;
- Apple / Google: Payment processing through App Store and Play Store.
4.2. Legal Disclosures
We may disclose information to authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4.3. Business Transactions
In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
5. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
CampRoute may transfer your data to countries outside your country of residence for cloud hosting, map and AI processing, and analytics. We implement appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where applicable.
6. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
We implement technical and organizational measures including:
- Encryption during transmission and storage (TLS, AES);
- Access controls and authentication mechanisms;
- Secure network configurations;
- Regular security assessments;
- Secure data backup and disaster recovery.
7. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
- Trips and saved places: Stored to provide the Service and removed when you delete them or uninstall the app;
- Preference data: Retained while you use the Service;
- Subscription records: Retained as required by law;
- Analytics data: May be retained in anonymized form.

8. TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES AND SDKs
8.1. SDKs We Use
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Performance monitoring and crash reporting;
- RevenueCat SDK: Subscription management.
8.2. App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, CampRoute complies with Apple's ATT framework and collects advertising identifiers only with your explicit permission. You can manage this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access, correct, or delete your data;
- Restrict or object to processing;
- Request data portability;
- Withdraw consent at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents: CampRoute does not sell your personal information. You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of data sharing.
